MISCONCEPTION ABOUT DESIGNERS
One of the biggest misconceptions is that designers are expensive. There is expense involved in furnishing ones home no matter what…. unless you are going to go “minimalistic”. The truth of the matter is that a great Designer can save you money. Think about doing your car yourself. You can figure it out yourself, but the time researching and doing is very time consuming. Not to mention what if you don’t do it right and you have to do it again. What I want to focus on is furniture that fits the space. You can’t just pick any car part to fix your car you need the exact one. Furniture is similar in that you need the piece that is not too big, not too small and works perfectly. Now you can live with a piece that is not what you wanted, but do you want to? A great Designer is an artist and crafts person. The comparison to the auto mechanic is your mechanic has been doing it for a long time and it is easier for him than you or I. When you walk into a well appointed house it should look comfortable, effortless and easy. That is how most people see interior design. That is beautiful I could do that, like any artist and the truth is that craftsman and artists make things look so easy and effortless while maintaining the elegance of what they are doing. Consider that when you are hiring a designer it could save you more money than you can realize.
